حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْآدَمِيُّ الْقَارِئُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نَاصِحٍ ثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقُرَشِيُّ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَعَظَ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ «ازْهَدْ فِي الدُّنْيَا يُحِبُّكَ اللَّهُ ﷻ وَازْهَدْ فِيمَا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ يُحِبُّكَ النَّاسُ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ admonished a man and said: “Be abstinent in this world and Allah ﷻ will love you, and be abstinent in what people possess and people will love you.”
