What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ishbīlī

machine translationIt is a disconnected (munqaṭiʿ) hadith and is not connected by any sound route, because Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab did not hear from ʿAttāb b. Asīd.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2619

machine translationIt contains a break in the chain (inqiṭāʿ) between Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab and ʿAttāb b. Asīd.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2619
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThe sound report from Saʿīd is that it is mursal.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2619
  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

machine translationIts disconnection is obvious, because Saʿīd was born during the caliphate of ʿUmar, and ʿAttāb died on the day Abū Bakr died; Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr preceded him in saying this.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2619
