  • Ibn Ḥazm

machine translationIbn Ḥazm declared it defective (muʿall) due to a break in the chain (inqiṭāʿ) and said: Masrūq did not hear from Muʿādh.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2451
  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationThe rejected (munkar) report is the narration of Abū Muʿāwiyah from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from Masrūq, from Muʿādh. As for the narration of al-Aʿmash from Abū Wāʾil, from Masrūq, it is preserved (maḥfūẓ). As for the hadith of al-Aʿmash from Ibrāhīm, the correct version is from al-Aʿmash, from Shaqīq, from Masrūq; and al-Aʿmash from Ibrāhīm, both of them said: "Muʿādh said..." and so on. This is the preserved (maḥfūẓ) version.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2451

machine translationHe declared it defective (muʿall) due to a break in the chain (inqiṭāʿ), saying that Masrūq did not meet Muʿādh, but this is open to question.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2451
  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationHe said that its chain is connected (muttaṣil), sound (ṣaḥīḥ) and established, and in his al-Istidhkār he said that the hadith from Masrūq from Muʿādh is established and connected.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2451
  • Ibn Ḥazm

machine translationHe said it is a broken-chain (munqaṭiʿ) hadith and that Masrūq did not meet Muʿādh, then he corrected himself at the end of the issue and said: We found that in the hadith of Masrūq only Muʿādh's action in Yemen regarding the zakāh of cattle is mentioned, and Masrūq, without doubt in our view, reached Muʿādh with his age and his intellect.

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2451
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThe preserved (maḥfūẓ) version is from Abū Wāʾil, from Masrūq, from Muʿādh, and from Ibrāhīm as a mursal report (mursal).

    in سنن النسائي, p. 2451
