أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَتَى نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

A man came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and said: "How should we send blessings upon you, O Prophet of Allah?' He said: 'Say: Alahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala ali Muhammad, kama sallaita 'ala Ibrahima wa barik 'ala Muhammad kama barakta 'ala ali Ibrahim fil-'alamin, innaka hamidun majid (O Allah, send salah upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent salah upon the family of Ibrahim, and send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim among the nations. You are indeed Worthy of praise, Full of glory.)'"

هو حديث يرويه عثمان بن عبد الله بن موهب عن موسى بن طلحة عن أبيه حدث به عنه إسرائيل وشريك ومجمع بن يحيى الأنصاري ورواه خالد بن سلمة المخزومي عن موسى بن طلحة فأسنده عن زيد بن خارجة الأنصاري عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حدث به عثمان بن حكيم الأنصاري عنه واختلف عنه فقيل عن عيسى بن يونس عن عثمان بن حكيم بهذا الإسناد عن زيد بن ثابت وقيل عن مروان بن معاوية عن عثمان عن موسى عن يزيد بن خارجة وكلاهما وهم والصواب زيد بن خارجة وهو أصحها
machine translationIt is a hadith narrated by ʿUthmān b. ʿAbdullāh b. Mawhab from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah from his father. Isrāʾīl, Sharīk and Mujammiʿ b. Yaḥyā al-Anṣārī narrated it from him. Khālid b. Salamah al-Makhzūmī narrated it from Mūsā b. Ṭalḥah and traced it back (musnad) through Zayd b. Khārijah al-Anṣārī from the Prophet ﷺ. ʿUthmān b. Ḥakīm al-Anṣārī narrated it from him, and there is disagreement about it from him. It was said: from ʿĪsā b. Yūnus from ʿUthmān b. Ḥakīm with this chain, from Zayd b. Thābit; and it was said: from Marwān b. Muʿāwiyah from ʿUthmān from Mūsā from Yazīd b. Khārijah. Both are errors (wahm), and the correct one is Zayd b. Khārijah, and it is the soundest of them.
