"When we prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we used to say: "Peace (As-Salam) be upon Allah (SWT), peace be upon Jibril, peace be upon Mika'il.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not say "Peace (As-Salam) be upon Allah, for Allah is As-Salam." Rather say: "At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat, as-salamu 'alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatAllahi wa baraktuhu. As-salamu 'alaina wa 'ala 'ibad illahis-salihin, ashahdu an la illaha ill-Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu (Allah compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah (SWT) and his blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah (SWT). I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger)."

machine translationZayd b. Abī Unaysah, ʿUfayr b. Maʿdān and Saʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah narrated it from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh as raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ). Sufyān al-Thawrī, Ḥamzah al-Zayyāt, Ibrāhīm al-Ṣāʾigh and Abū Ḥanīfah differed from them and narrated it from Ḥammād, from Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbdullāh. It is also said that Hishām al-Dastuwāʾī and Zayd b. Abī Unaysah both narrated it from Ḥammād, from Abū Wāʾil. Perhaps Ḥammād took it from both of them. Abū Ḥamzah Maymūn also narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh as raised (marfūʿ); Ṣughdī b. Sinān and Abū Maʿshar al-Barāʾ Yūsuf b. Yazīd narrated it from him. Ḥuṣayn b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Yazīd b. Abī Ziyād narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah and al-Aswad, from ʿAbdullāh, also as mawqūf. Al-Aʿmash narrated it, in the transmission of Zāʾidah from him, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad, from ʿAbdullāh. The most likely to be correct of these is the report of Abū Wāʾil.
