أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَرَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْجَارِيَةَ أَوِ الْغُلَامَ أَوِ الدَّابَّةَ فَلْيَأْخُذْ نَاصِيَتَهُ وَلْيَقُلِ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيَّرَهُ وَخَيْرَ مَا جُبِلَ عَلَيْهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا جُبِلَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِذَا اشْتَرَى بَعِيرًا فَلْيَأْخُذْ بِذِرْوَةِ سَنَامِهِ وَلْيَقُلْ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you buys a slave girl, a slave boy, or an animal, let him take hold of its forelock and say: 'O Allah, I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it was created upon, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was created upon.' And if he buys a camel, let him take hold of the top of its hump and say the like."
