أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ الْعُطَاسَ وَيَكْرَهُ التَّثَاؤُبَ فَإِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَحَقٌّ عَلَى مَنْ سَمِعَهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ وَأَمَّا التَّثَاؤُبُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَرُدَّهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا تَثَاءَبَ فَقَالَ هَاهْ هَاهْ ضَحِكَ مِنْهُ الشَّيْطَانُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Indeed Allah loves sneezing and dislikes yawning. When one of you sneezes, let him say: ‘Praise be to Allah,’ and it is a duty upon the one who hears him to say: ‘May Allah have mercy on you.’ As for yawning, it is only from Satan. When one of you yawns, let him suppress it as much as he can, for when one of you yawns and says ‘hah hah,’ Satan laughs at him.”
