أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَعَ أَصْحَابِهِ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ وَأَحْرَمْنَا بِالْحَجِّ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ قَالَ «مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَجْعَلْهَا عَمْرَةً فَإِنِّي لَوْلَا أَنَّ مَعِي هَدْيًا لَأَحْلَلْتُ» فَقَالُوا حِينَ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُ إِلَّا كَذَا وَقَدْ أَحْرَمْنَا بِالْحَجِّ فَكَيْفَ نَجْعَلُهَا عَمْرَةً؟ قَالَ «انْظُرُوا مَا آمُرُكُمْ بِهِ فَافْعَلُوا» قَالَ فَرَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلَ فَغَضِبَ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ غَضْبَانًا فَرَأَتِ الْغَضَبَ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَتْ مَنْ أَغْضَبَكَ أَغْضَبَهُ اللهُ قَالَ «وَمَا لِي لَا أَغْضَبُ وَأَنَا آمُرُ بِالْأَمْرِ فَلَا أُتْبَعُ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ went out with his companions, and we went out with him and entered ihram for Hajj. When we drew near Makkah, he said, 'Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him should make it an 'Umrah. Were it not that I have a sacrificial animal with me, I would have exited ihram.' They said, when there was only such-and-such distance between us and it, 'We have already entered ihram for Hajj, so how can we make it an 'Umrah?' He said, 'Look at what I command you and do it.' They repeated their words back to him, and he became angry. Then he went off until he entered upon 'A'ishah angry. She saw the anger in his face and said, 'Who has angered you? May God anger him.' He said, 'Why should I not be angry when I command something and am not followed?'
