أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ قَالَ

تَنَاوَلْتُ قِدْرًا كَانَتْ لِي فَاحْتَرَقَتْ يَدَيَّ فَانْطَلَقَتْ بِي أُمِّي إِلَى رَجُلٍ جَالِسٍ فِي الْجَبَّانَةِ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «لَبَّيْكِ وَسَعْدَيْكِ» ثُمَّ أَدْنَتْنِي مِنْهُ فَجَعَلَ يَتْفِلُ وَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِكَلَامٍ مَا أَدْرِي مَا هُوَ فَسَأَلْتُ أُمِّي بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَا كَانَ يَقُولُ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَقُولُ «أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شَافِيَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ»

✧ I reached for a pot of mine and burned my hands. My mother took me to a man sitting in the cemetery and said to him, 'O Messenger of God.' He said, 'Labbayk wa sa'dayk (I am at your service).' Then she brought me close to him, and he began to spit and speak words I did not understand. Later I asked my mother, 'What was he saying?' She said, 'He was saying: Remove the affliction, Lord of the people; heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Yours.'
