أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْأَذَانَ قَالَ مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ قَالَ فَإِذَا بَلَغَ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَلِيٍّ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ خَالَفَهُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ أَبِيهِ 9787 أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ نَحْوَهُ

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ heard the call to prayer, he would say the same as the muezzin. When the muezzin reached “Come to prayer,” he said, “There is no power or strength except with Allah.” And the wording is that of ‘Ali, and he did not mention “Come to success.” Sufyan al-Thawri differed with him; he narrated it from ‘Asim b. ‘Ubayd Allah, from Ibn ‘Abd Allah b. al-Harith, from al-Harith his father. 9787 Muhammad b. Bashshar informed us, he said: ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us from ‘Asim b. ‘Ubayd Allah, from Ibn ‘Abd Allah b. al-Harith, from his father, who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard the muezzin, something similar to it.
