أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ خَالِدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الْمَكِّيُّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لِبْسَتَيْنِ فَأَمَّا اللِّبْسَتَانِ فَأَنْ يَحْتَبِيَ الرَّجُلُ بِثَوْبٍ لَا يَكُونُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ شَيْءٌ وَتُصِيبُ مَذاكِيرَهُ الْأَرْضُ وَأَنْ يَلْبَسَ ثَوْبًا وَاحِدًا يَأْخُذُ بِجَوَانِبِهِ فَيَضَعُهُ عَلَى مَنْكِبَهُ فَتُدْعَى تِلْكَ الصَّمَّاءُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade two ways of wearing clothes. As for the two ways: a man sitting with his knees drawn up in a garment with nothing between him and the sky, and his private parts touching the ground; and that he should wear a single garment, taking its edges and placing them over one shoulder; that is called al-samma'.
