أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا مَاتَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ ابْنُ سَلُولٍ أَتَى ابْنُهُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ إِنْ لَمْ تَأْتِهِ لَمْ يَزَلْ يُعَيَّرْ بِهَا فَأَتَاهُ فَوَجَدَهُ قَدْ أَدْخَلُوهُ حُفْرَتَهُ فَقَالَ «أَلَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تُدْخِلُوهُ» ثُمَّ أُخْرِجَ مِنْ حُفْرَتِهِ فَتَفَلَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ قَرْنِهِ إِلَى قَدَمِهِ وَأَلْبَسَهُ قَمِيصَهُ

✧ When Abd Allah b. Ubayy b. Salul died, his son came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, if you do not come to him, he will keep being reproached for it.” So he went to him and found that they had placed him in his grave. He said, “Why not before you put him in?” Then he was taken out of his grave, and he spat on him from his head to his feet, and clothed him in his shirt.
