أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ «يَا مُغِيرَةُ خُذِ الْإِدَاوَةَ فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَانْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى تَوَارَى عَنِّي فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ مِنْ صُوفٍ فَذَهَبَ يُخْرِجُ يَدَهُ مِنْ كُمِّهَا فَضَاقَتْ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ أَسْفَلِهَا فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى»

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. He said, “O Mughirah, take the water vessel.” So I took it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went until he was hidden from me. He relieved himself, and he was wearing a Syrian jubbah of wool. He tried to bring his hand out of its sleeve, but it was tight, so he brought his hand out from below it. Then I poured water for him, and he performed wudu as for prayer, wiped over his khuffs, then prayed.
