أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّزَرَ بِبُرْدَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ فَجَعَلَ سَوَادَهَا يَشُبُّ بَيَاضَهُ وَجَعَلَ بَيَاضَهُ يَشُبُّ سَوَادَهَا فَعَرِقَ فَوَجَدَ رِيحَ الصُّوفِ فَأَلْقَاهَا

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ wrapped himself in a black burdah. Its blackness made his whiteness radiate, and his whiteness made its blackness radiate. Then he sweated, smelled the odor of wool, and threw it off.
