أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَجَعَلَ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ فَطَرَحَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَالَ «لَا أَلْبَسُهُ أَبَدًا»

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Ismāʿīl b. Masʿūd
  2. Khālid
  3. ʿUbaydullāh
  4. Nāfiʿ
  5. ʿAbdullāh

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ acquired a gold ring and turned its stone toward his palm. The people acquired rings, so the Prophet ﷺ threw his away and said: “I will never wear it again.”
