✧ The Making of Poetry and the Differences in the Words of the Transmitters

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الدَّرْهَمِيُّ عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مَرْبُوعًا عَرِيضَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَنْكِبَيْنِ كَثَّ اللِّحْيَةِ تَعْلُوهُ حُمْرَةٌ جُمَّتُهُ إِلَى شَحْمَةِ أُذُنَيْهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a man of medium height, broad between the shoulders, with a thick beard, a reddish complexion, and hair that reached the lobes of his ears. I indeed saw him in a red garment, and I never saw anyone more handsome than him.
