أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ

كَانَتْ أَمْوَالُ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ ﷺ مِمَّا لَمْ يُوجِفِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ عَلَيْهِ بِخَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ فَكَانَ يُنْفِقُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ مِنْهَا نَفَقَةَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا بَقِيَ جَعَلَهُ فِي السِّلَاحِ وَالْكُرَاعِ عُدَّةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

✧ The wealth of Banu al-Nadir was among that which Allah granted as fay’ to His Messenger ﷺ, which the Muslims had not spurred horses or camels for. He used to spend on his family from it the expenditure of a year, and what remained he made into weapons and horses as preparedness in the way of Allah.
