✧ The obligation of women's expenses and clothing

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَجَّاجُ الْبَاهِلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ حُجَيْرٍ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ «مَا حَقُّ أَزْوَاجِنَا عَلَيْنَا؟» قَالَ «أَطْعِمْ إِذَا طَعِمْتَ وَاكْسُ إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا تُقَبِّحْ وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ»

✧ I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is the right of our wives upon us?" He said: "Feed her when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not strike the face, do not revile, and do not abandon except within the house."
