✧ The Man Hitting His Wife

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ وَوَكِيعٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ضَرَبَ خَادِمًا لَهُ قَطُّ وَلَا امْرَأَةً وَلَا ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ شَيْئًا قَطُّ زَادَ عَبْدَةُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُجَاهِدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»

Translation

✧ “I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ strike a servant of his, nor a wife, nor did he ever strike anything with his hand,” 'Abdah added: “except when fighting in the cause of Allah.”
