✧ The gratitude of a woman towards her husband

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سِرَّارُ بْنُ مُجَشِّرِ بْنِ قَبِيصَةَ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثِقَةٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَنْظُرُ اللهُ إِلَى امْرَأَةٍ لَا تَشْكَرُ لِزَوْجِهَا وَهِيَ لَا تَسْتَغْنِي عَنْهُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سِرَّارُ بْنُ مُجَشِّرٍ هَذَا ثِقَةٌ بَصْرِيٌّ هُوَ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ يُقَدَّمَانِ فِي سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ؛ لَأَنَّ سَعِيدًا كَانَ تَغَيَّرَ فِي آخِرِ عُمُرِهِ فَمَنْ سَمِعَ مِنْهُ قَدِيمًا فَحَدِيثُهُ صَحِيحٌ وَافَقَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَى رَفْعِهِ وَجَعَلَ مَوْضِعَ سَعِيدٍ الْحَسَنَ الْبَصْرِيَّ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah does not look at a woman who does not thank her husband, while she cannot do without him.” Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman said: “This Sirar b. Mujashshir is trustworthy, a Basran. He and Yazid b. Zurayʿ are given precedence over Saʿid b. Abi ʿArubah, because Saʿid’s memory deteriorated at the end of his life. Whoever heard from him early on, his hadith is sound. ʿUmar b. Ibrahim agreed with him in raising it, and he put al-Hasan al-Basri in place of Saʿid.”
