أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّيْمِيُّ قَاضِي الْبَصْرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ «أَطُوفُ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ فَتَأْتِي كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ بِرَجُلٍ يَضْرِبُ بِالسَّيْفِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ فَطَافَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فَجَاءَتْ وَاحِدَةٌ بِنِصْفِ وَلَدٍ» وَلَوْ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ «إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ لَكَانَ مَا قَالَ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, who said, “Sulayman b. Dawud (peace be upon them) said, ‘Tonight I will go around to a hundred women, and each woman will bring a man who strikes with the sword,’ and he did not say, ‘If Allah wills.’ So he went around to them, and only one came with half a child. Had Sulayman said, ‘If Allah wills,’ what he said would have been.”
