al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 8904

✧ The permissibility of a man allowing his wife to look at the game.

أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

وَاللهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «يَقُومُ عَلَى بَابِ حُجْرَتِي وَالْحَبَشَةُ يَلْعَبُونَ بِحِرَابٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَسْتُرُنِي بِرِدَائِهِ لِكَيْ أَنْظُرَ إِلَى لَعِبِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ مِنْ أَجْلِي حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَنَا الَّتِي أَمَلُّ فَاقْدُرُوا بِقَدْرِ الْجَارِيَةِ الْحَدِيثَةِ السِّنِّ الْحَرِيصَةِ عَلَى اللهْوِ»

✧ By Allah, I saw the Prophet ﷺ standing at the door of my chamber while the Abyssinians played with spears in the mosque, screening me with his cloak so that I could watch their play. Then he would continue standing for me until I was the one who became weary. So estimate the age of a young girl who is eager for entertainment.
