أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

«كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ لَيْلَةَ بَيَّتْنَا هَوَازِنَ أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ شِعَارُنَا أَمِتْ أَمِتْ»

✧ “We were with Abu Bakr on the night we raided Hawazin. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had placed him in command over us, and our motto was: ‘Kill, kill.’”
