عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ غَيْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ وَيَحْيَى بْنِ آدَمَ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ السَّبِيعِيِّ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ قَالَ «آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ »

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Maḥmūd b. Ghaylān
  2. Abū Dāwud And Yaḥyá b. Ādam
  3. Sufyān al-Thawrī
  4. Abū Isḥāq al-Sabīʿī
  5. al-Barāʾ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived from a journey, he would say, "We are returning, repenting."
