أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ بِشْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ مَبْعَثًا فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ قَالَ «كَيْفَ وَجَدْتَ نَفْسَكَ؟» قَالَ «مَا زِلْتُ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ مَنْ مَعِي خَوَّلَ لِي وَايْمُ اللهِ مَا أَعْمَلُ عَلَى رَجُلَيْنِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عُمَيْرُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ هَذَا لَا نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ أَحَدًا رَوَى عَنْهُ غَيْرَ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ وَنُبَيْحٌ الْعَنَزِيُّ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ أَحَدًا رَوَى عَنْهُ غَيْرَ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him on an expedition. When he returned, he said: "How did you find yourself?" He said: "I continued until I thought that those with me were my servants. By Allah, I will not work over two men as long as I live." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: This 'Umayr b. Ishaq, we do not know that anyone narrated from him other than Ibn 'Awn, and Nubayh al-'Anazi, we do not know that anyone narrated from him other than al-Aswad b. Qays.
