✧ I came to Abdullah b. Amr while he was sitting in the shade of the Kabah and people were gathered around him, and I heard him saying: "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, he stopped at a place. Some of us were setting up their tents when his caller announced: 'Prayer is to be held in congregation.' So we gathered, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and addressed us, saying: 'There was no prophet before me but it was a duty upon him to guide his nation to what he knew was good for them and to warn them of what he knew was evil for them. This nation of yours has been granted well-being in its beginning, but its later part will be afflicted with trials and matters they will find objectionable. A tribulation will come, and the believer will say: "This is my destruction." Then it will pass, and another tribulation will come, and the believer will say: "This, this." Then it will pass. Whoever wishes to be kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, let death come to him while he believes in Allah and the Last Day, and let him treat people as he would love to be treated. Whoever gives allegiance to a leader, giving him his hand and the fruit of his heart, let him obey him as much as he can.'"
