أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ «أَيُّ الْهِجْرَةِ أَفْضَلُ» قَالَ «أَنْ تُهْجَرَ مَا كَرِهَ اللهُ وَالْهِجْرَةُ هِجْرَتَانِ هِجْرَةُ الْحَاضِرِ وَهِجْرَةُ الْبَادِي فَأَمَّا الْبَادِي فَإِنَّهُ يُطِيعُ إِذَا أُمِرَ وَيُجِيبُ إِذَا دُعِيَ وَأَمَّا الْحَاضِرُ فَأَعْظَمُهُمَا بَلِيَّةً وَأَفْضَلُهُمَا أَجْرًا»

✧ A man said: O Messenger of Allah, which migration is most virtuous? He said: "That you emigrate away from what Allah dislikes. Migration is of two kinds: the migration of the settled and the migration of the bedouin. As for the bedouin, he obeys when commanded and answers when called. As for the settled, he is the greater of the two in trial and the greater of the two in reward."
