✧ The guidance of good tidings

أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا جَرِيرُ «أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ» قَالَ «فَنَفَرْتُ وَكُنْتُ رَجُلًا لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فِي صَدْرِي حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ أَصَابِعِهِ» فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ وَاجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا فَأَحْرَقْتُهَا بِالنَّارِ» فَبَعَثَ جَرِيرٌ رَجُلًا مِنَّا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو أَرْطَاةَ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ «وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهَا كَأَنَّهَا جَمَلٌ أَجْرَبُ فَبَرَّكَ عَلَى خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِهَا خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Jarir, will you not relieve me from Dhu al-Khalasah?' He said: 'I set out, and I was a man who could not remain steady on horses. He struck his hand on my chest until I saw the trace of his fingers.' He said: 'O Allah, make him steadfast and make him a rightly-guided guide.' So I burned it with fire. Jarir sent a man from among us to the Prophet ﷺ called Abu Arta'ah. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, by the One who sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I left it like a mangy camel.' He blessed the horses and men of Ahmas five times.
