أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ وَأَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ «§كُنَّا فِي حَدِيثِ عَبَّاسٍ إِذَا حَمِيَ الْبَأْسُ»

وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ «إِذَا أَحْمَرَّ الْبَأْسُ وَلَقِيَ الْقَوْمُ الْقَوْمَ اتَّقَيْنَا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَا يَكُونُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ أَدْنَى إِلَى الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُ» اللَّفْظُ لِعَبَّاسٍ

✧ And the other said: "When the battle grew intense and the people met the people, we shielded ourselves with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and none of us was closer to the enemy than him." The wording is that of Abbas.
