أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُرَقَّعِ بْنِ صَيْفِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ رَبِيعٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ رَبِيعٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ وَالنَّاسُ مُجْتَمِعُونَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ فَبَعَثَ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ «انْظُرْ عَلَامَ اجْتَمَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ؟» فَجَاءَ فَقَالَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ قَتِيلٍ فَقَالَ «مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ تُقَاتِلُ وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَلَى الْمُقَدَّمَةِ» فَقَالَ «قُلْ لِخَالِدٍ لَا تَقْتُلَنَّ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا»
Translation

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on an expedition, and the people were gathered around something. He sent a man and said, "Look at what these people are gathered around." He came back and said, "Around a slain woman." He said, "This woman was not one to fight. Khalid b. al-Walid is leading the vanguard." He said, "Tell Khalid not to kill any children or laborers."
