✧ I was sitting with Ali when a man entered wearing travel clothes. Ali was speaking to the people and they were speaking to him. The man said, "O Commander of the Faithful, will you permit me to speak?" But Ali did not turn to him, and what he was engaged in distracted him. So I sat by the man and asked him, "What is your news?" He said, "I had performed Umrah and I met Aisha. She said to me, 'These people who went out in your land are called Haruriyyah.' I said, 'They went out in a place called Harura, so they were named after that.' She said, 'Blessed is the one who witnesses their destruction. If Ibn Abi Talib wished, he would inform you of their affair.' So I came to ask him about their affair." When Ali finished, he said, "Where is the one who asked permission?" The man narrated to him as he had narrated to us. Ali said, "I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and no one was with him except Aisha, the Mother of the Believers. He said to me, 'How will you be, O Ali, with a people of such and such?' I said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.'" He said, "Then he gestured with his hand and said, 'A people will come out from the east, reciting the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their collarbones. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through the game. Among them is a man with a defective arm, as if his hand is a breast. I adjure you by Allah: did I inform you about them?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'I adjure you by Allah: did I inform you that he is among them?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then you came to me and informed me that he is not among them, so I swore to you by Allah that he is among them. Then you brought him to me, dragging him as described to you?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.'"
