أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّهُ جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ عَمَّكَ الشَّيْخَ الضَّالَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَمَنْ يُوَارِيهِ؟» قَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَوَارِ أَبَاكَ وَلَا تُحْدِثْ حَدَثًا حَتَّى تَأْتِيَنِي فَفَعَلْتُ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَغْتَسِلَ فَاغْتَسَلْتُ وَدَعَا لِي بِدَعَوَاتٍ مَا يَسُرُّنِي مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهُنَّ»

Translation

✧ That he came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: "Indeed, your uncle, the misguided old man, has died. Who will bury him?" He said: "Go and bury your father, and do not do anything until you come to me." So I did that, then I came to him, and he ordered me to perform a ritual bath, so I bathed, and he supplicated for me with supplications such that nothing on earth would please me more than any of them."
