✧ statement of the Prophet ﷺ "al-Hasan and al-Husayn are my two fragrant flowers in this worldly life

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَشْعَثُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ

عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَعْنِي أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ دَخَلْنَا وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ يَتَقَلَّبَانِ عَلَى بَطْنِهِ قَالَ وَيَقُولُ «رَيْحَانَتَيَّ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ»

Translation

✧ On the authority of some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they said that Anas ibn Malik said, "We entered, and perhaps he said, 'I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Hassan and Hussein were playing on his stomach.' He said, 'My two fragrances from this Ummah.'
