أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَاذَانُ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَحْمَرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى أَبِي فَسَأَلَهُ أَيُّ النَّاسِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ؟ فَقَالَ «كَانَ أَحَبَّ النَّاسِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ فَاطِمَةُ وَمَنِ الرِّجَالِ عَلِيٌّ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ فِي الْحَدِيثِ

✧ A man came to my father and asked him: “Which of the people was dearest to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among the women?” He said: “The dearest of people to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among the women was Fatimah, and among the men, Ali.” Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Abd Allah b. Ata is not strong in hadith.
