✧ position of Ali bin Abi Talib, his closeness to the Prophet ﷺ, his companionship with him, and the love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for him.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ثِقَةٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَجَاءَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ جَمِيعِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أُمِّي عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَمِعْتُهَا تَسْأَلُهَا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحِجَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَتْ «تَسْأَلِينِي عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْهُ وَلَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ امْرَأَتِهِ»

✧ I entered with my mother upon Aisha, and I heard her asking her from behind the screen about Ali. She said: “You ask me about a man whom I know no one was dearer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than him, nor dearer to him than his wife.”
