أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسْهِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ طَائِرٌ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ ائْتِنِي بِأَحَبِّ خَلْقِكَ إِلَيْكَ يَأْكُلُ مَعِي مَنْ هَذَا الطَّيْرِ» فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَرَدَّهُ وَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَرَدَّهُ وَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ had a bird with him, and he said: «O God, bring me the most beloved of Your creation to You to eat with me from this bird.» Then Abu Bakr came and he sent him back. Then Umar came and he sent him back. Then Ali came and he gave him permission.
