✧ When there was what there was between Ibrahim and his family, he went out with Ismail and Ismail's mother, and they had an old water skin. She would drink from the water and her milk would flow upon her child. When they entered Makkah, he placed her under a large tree, then turned away to return. Ismail's mother followed his trace until she reached Kuda', she called to him: 'O Ibrahim, to whom are you leaving us?' Abu Amir said: 'To whom are you entrusting us?' He said: 'To Allah ﷻ.' She said: 'I am content with Allah.' Then she returned and would drink from the water and her milk would flow upon her child. When the water ran out, the child's thirst became severe. She said: 'If I were to go and look, perhaps I might see someone.' She stood on al-Safa and saw no one, so she descended. When she came to the valley, she lifted her garment and hastened until she came to al-Marwah and looked, and she saw no one. She did that for several rounds. Then she said: 'If I were to check on him.' She went and looked, and he was in the same state. But she refused to give up until she returned, perhaps she might see someone. She did that until she completed seven rounds. Then she said: 'If I were to check on him.' She went and looked, and he was in the same state, and she heard a sound. She said: 'I have heard. May you be answered, or may good come from you.' Abu Amir said: 'I have heard, so help.' Then it was Jibril, and he struck with his foot and water gushed forth. Ismail's mother went to dig around it. Abu al-Qasim ﷺ said: 'Had Ismail's mother left the water, it would have been flowing on the surface.' Then some people from Jurhum passed by and saw birds. They said: 'These birds are only over water.' They sent their messenger and their scout, and they came to her and said: 'Shall we stay with you?' She said: 'Yes.' So they settled with her, and Ismail ﷺ married a woman from among them. Then Ibrahim ﷺ decided to visit. He said: 'I will check on my family.' He came and asked about Ismail: 'Where is he?' They said: 'He is hunting.' They did not offer him anything. He said: 'When he comes, tell him to change the threshold of his house.' He came and she told him, so he said: 'You are that one; go to your family.' Then Ibrahim ﷺ decided again and said: 'I will check on my family.' He came to Ismail's family and said: 'Where is he?' They said: 'He went hunting.' They said to him: 'Stay and eat and drink.' He said: 'What is your food and drink?' They said: 'Our food is meat and our drink is water.' He said: 'O Allah, bless them in their food and drink.' Abu al-Qasim ﷺ said: 'It will not cease to have blessing due to the supplication of Ibrahim ﷺ.' Then Ibrahim ﷺ decided again and said: 'I will check on my family.' He came and found Ismail behind Zamzam fixing arrows for himself ﷺ. He said: 'O Ismail, your Lord ﷻ has commanded me to build a house for Him.' He said: 'Obey your Lord.' He said: 'And He has commanded me that you help me with it.' He said: Ismail ﷺ began to hand stones to Ibrahim, and they said: {Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.} [al-Baqarah: 127]. When the building was raised and the old man became weak to lift the stones, he stood on the Maqam, and Ismail kept handing him the stones, and they said: {Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.} [al-Baqarah: 127].
