أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ قُلْنَا لِحُذَيْفَةَ

أَخْبِرْنَا بِرَجُلٍ قَرِيبِ الْهَدْيِ وَالسَّمْتِ وَالدَّلِّ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى نَلْزَمَهُ قَالَ «مَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا أَشْبَهَ سَمْتًا وَهَدْيًا وَدَلًّا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى يُوَازِيَهُ مِنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ»

✧ "Tell us of a man close in guidance, manner, and conduct to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that we may keep to him." He said: "I do not know anyone more similar in manner, guidance, and conduct to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to the point of matching him, than Ibn Umm Abd."
