أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو حَيَّانَ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِبِلَالٍ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ «حَدِّثْنِي بِأَرْجَى عَمَلٍ عَمِلْتَهُ عِنْدَكَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ خَشْفَ نَعْلَيْكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ» قَالَ «مَا عَمِلْتُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَرْجَى عِنْدِي أَنِّي لَمْ أَطَّهَرْ طَهُورًا تَامًّا فِي سَاعَةٍ مِنْ لَيْلٍ وَلَا نَهَارٍ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ لِرَبِّي مَا كُتِبَ لِي أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal at the time of the dawn prayer: "Tell me of the most hopeful deed you have done in Islam, for I heard last night the rustling of your sandals before me in Paradise." He said: "I have not done any deed in Islam more hopeful to me than that I never purified myself with a complete purification at any hour of the night or day except that I prayed to my Lord what was written for me to pray."
