أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَوَّلِ مَا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ يَسْهَرُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ «لَيْتَ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِي يَحْرُسُنِي اللَّيْلَةَ» فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ سَمِعْنَا صَوْتَ السِّلَاحِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» قَالَ أَنَا سَعْدٌ جِئْتُ أَحْرُسُكَ قَالَتْ «وَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ first came to Madinah, he would stay awake part of the night. He said: 'Would that a righteous man from my companions would guard me tonight.' While we were in that state, we heard the sound of weapons. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Who is this?' He said: 'I am Sa'd. I have come to guard you.' She said: 'And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ slept.'
