أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سَالِمٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ بِأَسْفَلِ بَلْدَحَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الْوَحْيُ فَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سُفْرَةً فِيهَا لَحْمٌ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَا آكِلُ مِمَّا تَذْبَحُونَ عَلَى أَصْنَامِكُمْ وَلَا آكُلُ إِلَّا مَا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ» حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
Translation

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he met Zaid b. Amr b. Nufail at the lower part of Baldah before revelation came to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered him a food bag containing meat, but he refused to eat from it. Then he said: "I do not eat from what you slaughter upon your idols, and I eat only that over which the name of Allah has been mentioned." Abdullah b. Umar narrated this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
