أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَائِلُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَهِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ كَانَتْ تَقُولُ مَا بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ فِي جَيْشٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَوْ بَقِيَ بَعْدَهُ لَاسْتَخْلَفَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «اسْمُ الْبَهِيِّ عَبْدُ اللهِ»

✧ Aisha used to say: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never sent Zayd b. Harithah in an army except that he appointed him over them, and if he had remained after him, he would have appointed him as successor." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: "The name of al-Bahiyy is Abdullah."
