أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

هَجَرْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلَيْنِ يَخْتَلِفَانِ فِي آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ فَخَرَجَ وَالْغَضَبُ يُعْرَفُ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِاخْتِلَافِهِمْ فِي الْكِتَابِ»

✧ One day I went out to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he heard two men disagreeing about a verse of the Book of God. He came out with anger recognizable on his face and said, "Those before you were destroyed only by their disagreement about the Book."
