أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَابِسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «يَا ابْنَ عَابِسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكُ» أَوْ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا يَتَعَوَّذُ بِهِ الْمُتَعَوِّذُونَ؟» قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ هَاتَانِ السُّورَتَانِ»

✧ He informed him that the Prophet ﷺ said to him: "O Ibn 'Abis, shall I not guide you—or shall I not inform you—of the best with which those who seek refuge seek refuge?" He said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Say: 'I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak,' and say: 'I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.' These two surahs."
