أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ سُهَيْلَ بْنَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ قُلْتُ حَدِيثًا حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِيكَ قَالَ

أَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنَ الَّذِي حَدَّثَ بِهِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنِيهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ يُقَالُ لَهُ عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الدِّينَ النَّصِيحَةُ إِنَّ الدِّينَ النَّصِيحَةُ» قَالُوا لِمَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لِلَّهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَنَبِيِّهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»

✧ I heard it from the one who narrated it to my father. A man from the people of Syria, called ʿAtāʾ b. Yazīd, narrated to me, from Tamīm al-Dārī, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Indeed, the religion is sincere advice; indeed, the religion is sincere advice.” They said: “To whom, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “To Allah, to His Book, to His Prophet, and to the imams of the Muslims.”
