أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ طَهْمَانَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَتْ زَيْنَبُ تَفْتَخِرُ عَلَى نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَقُولُ أَنْكَحَنِيَ اللهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ يَحْيَى تُرِيدُ قَوْلَ اللهِ {زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا} [الأحزاب 37]

Translation

  4. Anas b. Mālik

✧ I heard Anas b. Malik say: Zaynab used to boast over the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, saying: Allah married me from heaven. Yahya said: She meant the words of Allah {We gave her to you in marriage} [al-Ahzab 37].
