أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَقَارُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ

عَنْ أَبِيهِ فَلَمْ أَحْفَظْهُ فَمَكَثْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأَمَرْتُ حَسَّانَ مَوْلًى لِقُرَيْشٍ أَنْ يَسْأَلَهُ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ سَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا تَوَكَّلَ مَنِ اكْتَوَى وَاسْتَرْقَى»

Translation

✧ From his father, but I did not memorize it. After that, I ordered Ḥassān, a freed slave of Quraysh, to ask him, and he informed me that he asked him and he said: "I heard my father say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever cauterizes or seeks ruqyah has not relied upon Allah.'"
