✧ The Suspended Fruit is Stolen

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي كَمْ تُقْطَعُ الْيَدُ؟ فَقَالَ «لَا تُقْطَعُ الْيَدُ فِي ثَمَرٍ مُعَلَّقٍ فَإِذَا ضُمَّهُ الْجَرِينَ قُطِعَتْ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ وَلَا يُقْطَعُ فِي حَرِيسَةِ الْجَبَلِ فَإِذَا آوَاهُ الْمُرَاحُ قُطِعَتْ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was asked: For how much is the hand cut off? He said: The hand is not cut off for hanging fruit, but when the threshing floor gathers it, it is cut off for the price of a shield. And it is not cut off for a mountain sheep taken by stealth, but when the fold shelters it, it is cut off for the price of a shield.
