أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ أَيْمَنَ قَالَ

«لَمْ تُقْطَعْ يَدُ السَّارِقِ فِي زَمَنِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ وَالْمِجَنُّ قِيمَتُهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ دِينَارٌ» رَوَاهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَعَطَاءٍ

✧ "The hand of a thief was not cut off in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except for [stealing] the price of a shield, and a shield's value at that time was a dinar." 'Ali b. Salih narrated it and said: "From Mujahid and 'Ata'."
