أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ أخبرنا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «إِقَامَةُ حَدٍّ يُعْمَلُ بِأَرْضٍ خَيْرٌ لِأَهْلِهَا مِنْ مَطَرٍ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً» وَهَذَا الصَّوَابُ وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. ʿAmr b. Zurārah
  2. Ismāʿīl
  3. Khbrnā Yūnus b. ʿUbayd
  4. Jarīr b. Yazīd
  5. Abū Zurʿah

✧ Abu Hurayra said, "Establishing a punishment carried out in a land is better for its people than forty nights of rain." This is the correct version, and success is by Allah.
